We are actively looking to expand our team of trustees for SAVE food hub. If you have a few hours spare a week and would like to volunteer with us, we’d love to hear from you!

Trustee: role description

  • Ensure that SAVE food hub pursues its purposes as defined in its constitution, by developing and agreeing a long-term strategy

  • Ensure that SAVE food hub complies with its constitution and any other relevant legislation or regulations

  • Ensure that SAVE food hub applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its purposes (ie the community group must not spend money on activities that are not included in its own purposes, however worthwhile or charitable those activities are) for the benefit of the public

  • Safeguarding the good name and values of SAVE food hub

  • Ensuring the effective and efficient administration of SAVE food hub, including having appropriate policies and procedures in place

  • Ensuring the financial stability of SAVE food hub

  • Protecting and managing the property of SAVE food hub and ensuring the proper investment of the community group’s funds

  • Participate in regular trustee meetings


In addition to the above statutory duties, each trustee should use any specific skills, knowledge or experience they have to help the trustees reach sound decisions. This may involve scrutinising papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise.
