Fund Raising for Fareshare - Two Amazing Local Volunteers
Two of our local larder volunteers are raising funds to support FareShare.
Baz Chandra ran 5k every day in June. Baz is a regular Seaton parkrunner who challenged himself to go from running 5k once a week to running every day in June. That’s 150k instead of 20k, no mean feat! He achieved it even through some very hot days and through some personal challenges. Baz said “FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors. They take good quality surplus food from across the food industry and get it to nearly 8,500 frontline charities and community groups. Will you join #TeamFareShare and kindly give what you can to support the amazing work that FareShare is doing?”

Francoise Cohen is taking part in the “walking with dog 100k for July #FareShare” challenge. This isn’t the first time Fran has taken on a walking challenge to support FareShare. Fran said I feel very passionate about fundraising for FareShare. I volunteer for the community larder which has taught me so many new skills and improved my confidence. Do you want to join me in making a difference? I’m raising money in aid of FareShare and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.”

FareShare is a national charity that aims to support communities to relieve food poverty by, amongst other things, redistributing surplus food and drinks to organisations countrywide. Locally our community larder benefits from our regional FareShare hub (located in Exeter) as it receives a weekly large load of surplus food which is then available to local people. This is usually an eclectic mix of fresh fruit/vegetables, milk, cheese, chilled meats, bread, ready meals, and sometimes biscuits or coffee pods or even Angel Delight!
